During the time that I have been helping others, I have heard tremendously positive stories of inspiration, stories of how prayer and faith have changed lives. Here are a few of the stories others have shared with us. If you want to share your own personal story, send it to us via the online form below and we'll post it on this page.

Susan of Pittsburgh writes: On June 28, 1981 my 3 year old daughter, Danielle, fell 30 feet head first onto our driveway from a second story window sill. When her brother came downstairs to tell me his sister "went out the window" I thought she had climbed onto the porch roof. Never did it occur to me that a screened window could pull apart so easily. When I saw her laying on the driveway I knew she was not breathing. The moments that followed replay in my mind like a foggy nightmare. Fortunately, we lived very near the local EMS station. I have no idea who called them or when, I just know that they were there and took over. As I rushed into the house to gather things to take to the hospital, I saw my Bible. Quickly I picked it up and opened it, asking God for direction and strength. The first verse that caught my eye was Matthew 7:7 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." I slammed it shut and cried out to God- "I am not asking- I am telling you, God- give her back to me whole and healthy or take her now!" What an arrogant but desperate prayer that was, but I had peace throughout the long process of her hospitalization. The initial prognosis was very grim, still, I clung to that prayer. 10 days later she came home walking and talking- whole and healthy! She had no surgery, very little medication and only a few weeks of physical therapy. She had no permanent damage, or even any memory of the accident. The doctors said she was a miracle. Today, she is a mother of 4 beautiful children and an ICU nurse. Do I believe in prayer? You bet my daughter's life I do!

Here's a great story by Stephen from Pittsburgh. In 1995, age 25, I went through a divorce and had turned my back on God and my beliefs.  I was living a very worldly life and dating a girl who was not a Christian.  My parents were praying for me on a daily basis. My dad is a minister and knew that I was not walking at all with the Lord.  In February of 1997, my girlfriend and I had a beautiful little baby girl and were then married in May of 1997.  Two months later I was involved in a severe car accident - I was life flighted to Presby in Oakland with damage to every side of my brain and in a comma.  I woke 3 days later and was transferred to Harmarville rehab because I could not walk with my right leg or use my right arm.  Three days into my stay at Harmarville rehab I was laying in bed staring at the ceiling, feeling sorry for myself when I came to full realization that I had turned my back on God and He was trying to get my attention.  Right there I asked God back into my life and thanked Him for putting me on my back so I had to look up again, and thanked Him for all the prayers of my parents and others that were praying for me.  I had a full recovery in the next 3 weeks and was back to work 5 weeks after the accident. Doctor told me this just doesn't happen with the kind of injury I had - I said maybe not but I have God on my side and he healed me!!  Two years later my wife prayed the prayer of salvation and we now have 5 beautiful, healthy children!!! Thank you Jesus!!!

I have my own story to tell. It is about my parents. Within 18 months of each other, my parents both fell ill and passed away. During their illnesses, they had both suffered greatly. I was bitter and angry about good people going through such pain, and I had a difficult time coming to grips with it. I prayed for guidance. One day, I was listening to Word FM when end-of-life suffering was the topic of discussion. The lesson I learned that changed my outlook immediately was this: My parents suffered a fraction of their time on earth, which to me seemed like a long time, but when we believe in eternity, we realize that was just a blip on the radar screen. That day, the sun seemed brighter than it had in a long time, and my heart was at peace for my parents. - Dale Frank, Mortgage Advisory Group, Oakdale, PA
